Topic 2: Do You Believe in Oprah? (KK)

Oprah Winfrey: the woman, the talk show legend. My youngest sister, KK, asked me "Do you believe in Oprah?"

My random thoughts on Oprah:
- I saw her at the Musee de Orsay while studying abroad in Paris and thought she was nice (she even told me hello). Above is a picture I took of her. I also saw her friend Gayle.
- I think its admirable that she is so upfront with her weight issues, but kind of bologna when you consider the money she spends on LOSING it. I mean come on Oprah, its called good old fashioned Weight Watchers. Not everyone has Dr. Oz at their disposal.

So I'm not sure if I really "believe" in Oprah, because unlike most things, I don't have much of an opinion about her. I thought it was cool to see her in person, and I think its unfair that she gets Dr. Oz (haha) but thats about my extent on an "Oprah opinion."

Let me tell you who I DO believe in! The LSU Tigers!!!!!!!

I mean lets be honest, we've got bigger fish to fry today than Oprah. The LSU Tigers won the College World Series last night...and HOT DOG, do I believe in the Tigers. It feels really good to walk around Texas VERY smug this Thursday knowing that MY team kicked THEIR team's ass. We celebrated with a great bottle of champagne and chocolate rice kripie treats (interesting combo, I know). It always feels good to be an LSU fan, but today is EXTRA sweet.

Day 2...Tigers Baseball and Topics

What a DEPRESSING baseball game last night! The announcer tactifully put as "It looks like the power has gone out on the Tigers"...in my opinion, it looked more like a blackout. One more chance tonight for us to beat the Longhorns or I have a feeling I might never hear the end of it....so GEAUX TIGERS!

Last night at dinner, I told my family about my blog. I certainly got a few snickers and questions...such as the one from my Dad, "Do you know what Blog means?" Being my family, we of course don't look it up on dictionary.com, but instead on urbandictionary.com. Urban Dictionary defines blog as "A meandering, blatantly uninteresting online diary that gives the author the illusion that people are interested in their stupid, pathetic life." Well, if the shoe fits.

So after laughs and jabs from all, everyone started giving me topics that they would like to see me blog about...so the next few weeks I will be writing about what my fam wants to hear me write about. My first topic will be living in Washington D.C. vs. living in Houston...requested by my great Dad, who, along with Mom, was such a huge supporting force in getting me to move to Washington and supporting me while I was getting on my feet there. It will be my second post today, so be sure to check it out.

Here goes nothing...

In the midst of my summer boredom, I have been reading lots and lots of blogs. Inspired by these bloggers, who clearly have way too much time on their hands, I have decided to admit that I too have too much time on my hands and have decided to write my own. I'm not 100% sure what I will write about, but being ADHD, I normally have about 1 million thoughts bouncing around in my head, so I am SURE I will be able to come up with something a few times a week. So that being said, here goes nothing....

Tonight is a big night for us Tigers in Texas as LSU is one game away from beating UT in the baseball college world series. I have proudly worn my purple and gold around Houston for almost a week now. Mr. Tiger (aka my husband Greg) and I will be watching the game with my family (Mom, Dad, 2 sisters, Leanne and KK, a WILD woman puppy named Lola, and a grumpy fish named Sally.)

So be sure to watch the game tonight...and as my favorite poster during last nights game said...TIGERS MESS WITH TEXAS.
